About Tiff
Hi! I'm Tiff (she/they), a Viet-Canadian writer and multidisciplinary artist based in Winnipeg. My practice includes illustration, writing, filmmaking, music, design, animation, soft sculpture, and more. I like to create art that showcases diverse characters, playful personalities, and quirky humour, all in vibrant colour.
My third picture book, We Need Everyone written by Michael Redhead Champagne, was published by Portage & Main Press in 2024. It was a finalist in the 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, won a Silver (Honour) Award at the California Reading Association's Eureka Book Awards, and was featured as a Fold Kids Book-of-the-Month.
While I've been creating things my entire life, I got my professional start illustrating gig posters and band merch, and publishing comics in college newspapers and on the web. My silly little guys can be found in all kinds of places, from alleycat spoke cards, to t-shirts, to beverage cans, to other items cluttering up a thrift shop near you.
When I'm not making stuff, I enjoy riding bikes, niche comedy, and collecting weird vintage toys.
For inquiries, email me at hello [at] tiffbartel [dot] com. I can also be found on Bluesky and Instagram (just barely).
